The series shows the lives and experiences of real characters, brought to life from their own words and diaries, and with a focus on real life Irish characters. Commissioned to us by TG4, as part of a European wide co-production led by LOOKS, the series broadcast to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of World War One which changed Ireland and the world forever leaving over 20 million dead. We use extensive reconstructions (incorporating a custom made trench) and collate mountains of never seen archive from Ireland to tell the story through the diaries of those who lived at a turning point in world history.
